The Reason I Photograph…
I’m the fifth born of seven. So, my life has always been a little crazy…in a good way! As we get older, jobs and distance make getting the whole family together even trickier. Somehow I ended up being the family photographer wanting to record all the moments my whole family is actually able be together; BBQs, holidays & birthdays. There are plenty of times when we can’t all be together and photographs help keep us connected.
I realize how important those moments with family & friends are and have carried that into my love of capturing images for other families as well. I love all kinds of photography and especially enjoy High School Seniors & Children Portraiture, because those moments are so fleeting. I also love creating images that communicate a personality and emotion that children and teenagers are so great at expressing. Children grow up so fast & finishing high school is such a big step in life that should be captured.
The Schooling…
In high school I took a course in black & white photography where I learned the basic skills of photography including studio portraiture and working in a darkroom. Printing photographs in the darkroom got me hooked on photography. I am now completing a course in professional photography through The New York Institute of Photography.
The Logo & Tag-line…
I love the ocean & most everything about it; the waves, fog, sandcastles, seashells & nautical everything, like anchors.
The real reason I chose an anchor though…
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” ~Hebrews 6:19
Running a business and life in general can be a struggle and this logo helps remind me constantly of the hope I have.
As far as the tag-line, I was trying to figure out how to relate an anchor into photography & express the value of photographs, so I came up with the tag-line “photographing an anchor in time”
Little Pieces of Who I Am…
I love holidays with my family, hanging out with friends, road trips, crocheting, discovering great music hardly anyone knows about, cooking, writing, thrift-store treasure hunting, lake days, white lilies, the rain, old movies, sushi and the ocean! I could not survive without faith, love & music.

*Books… The Giver, My Sister’s Keeper & The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
And just for good measure… I hate… scary movies, rudeness, carrots & gnomes.
